Cyanine2 is a green fluorescent dye with optical properties similar to Rhodamine Green, FITC, and AF488. It is the only dye in the Cyanine series that uses a benzoxazole chromophore. As a result, despite having the same length of methine bridge as Cyanine3, its absorption and emission peaks are blue-shifted by approximately 70 nm, placing it in the yellow-green spectral range. This makes Cyanine2 the only green-fluorescent dye in the Cyanine series of cyanine dyes. Cyanine2 offers numerous advantages: it exhibits strong fluorescence in both non-polar and polar environments, is compatible with non-polar organic mounting media such as DPX and Permount(TM), has a stable fluorescent core and chemical structure, can be adapted to various conventional green fluorescence channels, and is suitable for labeling a wide range of nanomaterials and biological samples. This product is Cyanine2 NHS ester, which can directly react with amino groups in various labeling targets to form stable amide bonds.
