Excitation (nm): 502. Emission (nm): 511. Bodi Fluor FL-C12, a green fluorescent fatty acid, serves as a synthetic precursor for a wide array of fluorescent phospholipids. Unlike conventional fluorophores such as pyrene, DPH, and NBD, Bodi Fluor dyes exhibit minimal sensitivity to environmental conditions, maintaining consistent fluorescence in both aqueous and lipid mediums. The structural asymmetry of Bodi Fluor dyes allows for the derivation of a variety of fluorescent lipid analogs. Additionally, Bodi Fluor lipid droplet dyes effectively translocate across cellular membranes, specifically accumulating in polar lipids to selectively stain lipid droplets. This characteristic renders them applicable for the staining of both live and fixed cells in cellular biology research.
