Dyes and Labeling Reagents

This category comprises chemicals for permanent and temporary labeling of organelles, proteins, and other molecules. For example, this includes the covalent linkage of a target protein, such as an antibody, with a fluorescent dye/fluorophore, allowing detection of the target protein in microscopic experiments. For the purpose of detection, proteins can also be coupled with reporter enzymes (e.g. HRP) or radioactive isotopes. To facilitate the purification of a target protein, biotinylation followed by streptavidine affinity binding has proven to be effective.

Coelenterazine
Coelenterazine

Item number: Cay16123-500

Coelenterazine is a luciferin, a light-emitting biomolecule that serves as a substrate for luciferases or as a constituent of photoproteins, including aequorin. The oxidation of coelenterazine to coelenteramide is accompanied by emission of blue light (emission maximum, 460-470 nm). Luciferase-mediated oxidation of...

Cal Red(TM) R525/650 AM
Cal Red(TM) R525/650 AM

Item number: ABD-20591

Cal Red R525/650 is weakly fluorescent, and once enters cells, the lipophilic AM blocking groups are cleaved by intracellular esterase, resulting in a negatively charged fluorescent dye retained well in cells with excitation close to 488 nm and two emissions at 525 nm and 650 nm. When cells are stimulated with a...
