Dyes and Labeling Reagents

This category comprises chemicals for permanent and temporary labeling of organelles, proteins, and other molecules. For example, this includes the covalent linkage of a target protein, such as an antibody, with a fluorescent dye/fluorophore, allowing detection of the target protein in microscopic experiments. For the purpose of detection, proteins can also be coupled with reporter enzymes (e.g. HRP) or radioactive isotopes. To facilitate the purification of a target protein, biotinylation followed by streptavidine affinity binding has proven to be effective.

LysoBrite(TM) Blue
LysoBrite(TM) Blue

Item number: ABD-22642

Ex: 353 nm. Em: 442 nm. Lysosomes are cellular organelles which contain acid hydrolase enzymes to break up waste materials and cellular debris. Lysosomes digest excess or worn-out organelles, food particles, and engulfed viruses or bacteria. The membrane around a lysosome allows the digestive enzymes to work at pH...

Phalloidin-Tetramethylrhodamine Conjugate
Phalloidin-Tetramethylrhodamine Conjugate

Item number: ABD-23102

This orange fluorescent phalloidin conjugate (equivalent to TRITC-labeled phalloidin) selectively binds to F-actins with much higher photostability than the fluorescein-phalloidin conjugates. Used at nanomolar concentrations, phalloidin derivatives are convenient probes for labeling, identifying and quantitating...

iFluor(TM) 488 succinimidyl ester
iFluor(TM) 488 succinimidyl ester

Item number: ABD-1023

Although FITC is still the most popular fluorescent labeling dye for preparing green fluorescent bioconjugates, there are certain limitations with FITC, such as severe photobleaching for microscope imaging and pH-sensitive fluorescence. Protein conjugates prepared with iFluor(TM) 488 dyes (Ex/Em=491 nm/520 nm) are...
