W-9 (hydrochloride)

W-9 is a calmodulin antagonist (IC50 = 16 µM in a radioligand binding assay). It inhibits calmodulin-dependent phosphodiesterase (PDE) activation in a cell-free assay (IC50 = 14 µM) and erythrocyte ghost ATPase activation (IC50s = 15-18 µM). W-9 induces relaxation in isolated rabbit aortic strips precontracted with prostaglandin F2alpha (PGF2alpha, EC50 = 72 µM) and inhibits ATP-induced superprecipitation of bovine aorta smooth muscle actomyosin (IC50 = 46 µM). It also inhibits the replication of dengue virus in HEK293 cells (IC50 = 3. µM).. Solulibility: DMSO: Sparingly Soluble: 1-10 mg/ml: Ethanol: Slightly Soluble: 0.1-1 mg/ml.
