Pincainide

Pincainide is a calcium channel inhibitor. It reduces norepinephrine-induced calcium influx and increases calcium efflux in isolated rat aortic strips. Pincainide reduces phasic and tonic contractions induced by norepinephrine (IC50s = 880 and 780 µM, respectively) and high potassium (IC50s = 620 and 670 µM, respectively) in isolated rat aortic strips. It also decreases heart rate, contractile force, and the maximum following frequency in isolated rat right atria.
