Product information "Nequinate"
Nequinate is a quinoline anticoccidial agent against cecal coccidiosis (Eimeria tenella) infections. It is studied for its efficacy against protozoan parasites of the genus Eimeria. The mode of action involves the inhibition of mitochondrial electron transport in the parasites, such as inhibiting xanthine oxidoreductase (XOD) activity, thus disrupting the energy metabolism. Anticoccidial drugs are a class of compounds used to prevent or treat coccidiosis, an intestinal disease caused by protozoan parasites of the genus Eimeria (and occasionally Isospora) in animals, particularly poultry and livestock. Nequinate serves as a reference compound in pharmacological and biochemical studies exploring quinoline-based inhibitors of protozoan metabolism. Compound can be used as analytical reference material.
