An inhibitor of P-selectin-mediated cell adhesion, inhibits U937 cell binding to immobilized P-selectin immunoglobin (IC50 = 1.97 µM), selective for P-selectin-mediated cell adhesion over E- and or L-selectin-mediated adhesion of U937 and HL-60 cells, respectively, at 100 µM, decreases P-selectin-induced superoxide production by isolated human PMNs at 0.1-10 µM, reduces the proliferation of T47D and HCT116 cells (EC50s = 0.41 and 0.56 µM, respectively), reduces PMN infiltration into the peritoneum in a mouse model of thioglycollate-induced peritonitis at 1 mg/kg.
