A potentiator of insulin-induced Glut4 plasma membrane translocation, enhances insulin-stimulated increases in plasma membrane levels of Glut4 in a reporter assay using C2C12 cells at 10 µM, decreases fasting blood levels of glucose, fasting plasma levels of insulin, and body weight in mice fed a high-fat diet at 10 mg/kg per day, potentiates insulin-induced increases in the plasma membrane translocation of Glut4 in the forelimbs, hind limbs, brown adipose tissues, and heart but not brain or liver in mice in a model of diet-induced obesity.
