An L-cystine derivative, inhibits UVB radiation-induced NF-kappaB nuclear translocation in and IL-1alpha secretion from HaCaT cells at 50 or 100 µM, decreases proliferation and IFN-gamma and IL-2 secretion in a co-culture of lymphocytes isolated from BALB/c mice and irradiated splenocytes isolated from C57BL/10J mice at 10 µg/ml, reduces corneal GSH levels and increases corneal allograft survival in mice at 8 µg/animal, s.c.j..
