Cryptochlorogenic Acid

Cryptochlorogenic acid is a phenolic acid that has been found in various plant species, including Artemisia, honeysuckle, and H. sabdariffa, and has diverse biological activities. It inhibits rat lens aldose reductase (RLAR) in vitro (IC50 = 11.13 µM). Cryptochlorogenic acid inhibits the growth of S. aureus (MIC = 0.5 mg/ml). It scavenges 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH, Cay-14805) free radicals in a cell-free assay (IC50 = 5.26 µg/ml).
