Product information "Carbaryl"
Carbaryl is a carbamate insecticide. It is an inhibitor of acetylcholinesterase (AChE, IC50 = 13.6 nM for the mosquito enzyme). Carbaryl is toxic to fourth instar mosquito larvae (LC50 = 0.83 ppm) and tobacco budworms (LD50 = 0.3 mg/g). In vivo, carbaryl (30 mg/kg per day) increases the serum levels of IL-4 and IL-10 and decreases serum levels of IL-2, IFN-gamma, IL-1beta, and TNF-alpha, spleen and thymus weight, as well as increased lymphocyte proliferation induced by concanavalin A (Cay-14951), in rats. Formulations containing carbaryl have been used to control insects in agriculture.Formal Name: 1-naphthalenol, 1-(N-methylcarbamate). CAS Number: 63-25-2. Synonyms: Arylam, Dyna-carbyl, ENT 23969, alpha-Naphthyl methyl Carbamate, alpha-Naphthalenyl methyl Carbamate, NSC-27311, UC7744. Molecular Formula: C12H11NO2. Formula Weight: 201.2. Purity: >98%. Formulation: (Request formulation change), A solid. Solubility: Chloroform: Slightly soluble, Methanol: Slightly soluble. SMILES: O=C(NC)OC1=C2C(C=CC=C2)=CC=C1.
