Calcium chloride is highly hygroscopic and is often used as a desiccant. Appearance: White granules, Solubility, 1% H2O: Clear to slightly hazy solution, Purity (CaCl2): >96%, Titratable Base: <0.006meq/g, pH (1%): 7.5-9.0, Alkalinity (as Ca(OH)2): <0.02%, Mesh Test: 20 mesh: <10%, 200 mesh: <30%, Magnesium and alkali salts (as sulfates): <2%, Acid Insoluble Matter: <0.02%, Arsenic: <3mg/Kg, Fluoride: <0.004%, Lead: <5mg/Kg, Storage: Store powder at RT. Opened bottles should be capped tightly and kept in a dark, low humidity environment.
