Oomycete-specific sulphonamide fungicide which acts by inhibiting mitochondrial complex III activity (Complex III: cytochrome bc1 (ubiquinone reductase)) through binding to the Qi centre and impairing respiration and energy production. Categorized as quinine insider inhibitor (QII). Shown to have anti-fouling activity. Compound can be used as analytical reference material.
