A RARbeta2 agonist, selectively induces RARbeta2 activity over RARalpha, RARbeta1, and RARgamma activity in functional assays using NIH3T3 cells (EC50s = 126, 2,512, 1,995, and 6,310 nM, respectively), reduces the proliferation of MCF-7 breast cancer cells in a concentration-dependent manner, induces neurite outgrowth in retinoid-responsive NTERA-2 cells at 10 µM, reduces fasting blood glucose levels in mice fed a high-fat diet as a model of type 2 diabetes.
