An antibiotic, active against S. haemolyticus, M. aureus, M. tuberculosis, B. subtilis, and S. faecalis (MICs = 0.025, 0.05, 0.05, 0.75, and 0.09 µg/kg, respectively), inhibits RNA and protein synthesis in A. montana at 65 µM, toxic to mice (LD50 = 122 mg/kg).
