Firefly Luciferase HeLa Cell Line is a human epithelial HeLa cell line engineered to express Firefly luciferase driven by an EF1a promoter. This cell line was generated by transduction with Firefly Luciferase Lentivirus (#78740-H). This cell line was validated for luciferase activity. HeLa is a commonly used immortalized cell line derived from cervical cancer, containing an estimated 80 chromosomes. HeLa cells have an abnormally high rate of proliferation due to their active telomerase during cell division. These cells have been extremely valuable for research in oncology, genetics, virology and even space biology. The presence of luciferase allows for easy assay readouts.
