Vascular Endothelial Cell Growth Factor Receptor 3 (VEGFR-3/Flt-4) BioAssay(TM) ELISA Kit (Human)

This gene encodes a tyrosine kinase receptor for vascular endothelial growth factors C and D. The protein is thought to be involved in lymphangiogenesis and maintenance of the lymphatic endothelium. Mutations in this gene cause hereditary lymphedema type IA. Sample Type: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, Intended Use: For the quantitative determination of human vascuar endothelial cell growth factor receptor 3 (VEGFR-3/Flt-4) concentrations in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Sensitivity: 0.039ng/ml, Range: 0.156-10ng/ml, Specificity: This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human VEGFR-3/Flt-44. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human VEGFR-3/Flt-44 and analogues was observed. Test Principle: This BioAssay(TM) employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for VEGFR-3/Flt-4 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any VEGFR-3/Flt-4 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for VEGFR-3/Flt-4 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of VEGFR-3/Flt-4 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
