Rat AQP5 (Aquaporin-5) ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is a pre-coated immunoassay with a high sensitivity and broad range and has been designed to measure Rat AQP5 (Aquaporin-5) in serum, plasma & cell culture supernatant samples. The Rat AQP5 (Aquaporin-5) ELISA Kit accurately measures natural Rat AQP5 (Aquaporin-5) levels quantified versus standard curves obtained and is based on antibodies raised against a recombinant Rat AQP5 (Aquaporin-5) peptide. Protein function: Forms a water-specific channel (PubMed:7530250). Plays an important role in fluid secretion in salivary glands. Required for TRPV4 activation by hypotonicity. Together with TRPV4, controls regulatory volume decrease in salivary epithelial cells. Seems to play a redundant role in water transport in the eye, lung and in sweat glands. [The UniProt Consortium]
