Mouse SGPL1 (Sphingosine 1 Phosphate Lyase 1) ELISA Kit

The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Mouse SGPL1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Mouse SGPL1. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Mouse SGPL1, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Mouse SGPL1 in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve. Protein Function: Cleaves phosphorylated sphingoid bases (PSBs), such as sphingosine-1-phosphate, into fatty aldehydes and phosphoethanolamine (PubMed:20097939, PubMed:9464245). Elevates stress-induced ceramide production and apoptosis (PubMed:9464245). Required for global lipid homeostasis in liver and cholesterol homeostasis in fibroblasts (PubMed:20097939, PubMed:28262793). Involved in the regulation of pro-inflammatory response and neutrophil trafficking (PubMed:21173151). Modulates neuronal autophagy via phosphoethanolamine production which regulates accumulation of aggregate-prone proteins such as APP (PubMed:28521611).
