Mouse IGFBP1 (Insulin Like Growth Factor Binding Protein 1) ELISA Kit

The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Mouse IGFBP1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Mouse IGFBP1. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Mouse IGFBP1, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Mouse IGFBP1 in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve. Protein Function: Multifunctional protein that plays a critical role in regulating the availability of IGFs such as IGF1 and IGF2 to their receptors and thereby regulates IGF-mediated cellular processes including cell migration, proliferation, differentiation or apoptosis in a cell-type specific manner. Also plays a positive role in cell migration by interacting with integrin ITGA5:ITGB1 through its RGD motif. Mechanistically, binding to integrins leads to activation of focal adhesion kinase/PTK2 and stimulation of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway (By similarity).
