Human TBX3 (T-Box Protein 3) ELISA Kit

The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human TBX3. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Human TBX3. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Human TBX3, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Human TBX3 in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve. Protein Function: Transcriptional repressor involved in developmental processes (PubMed:10468588). Binds to the palindromic T site 5'-TTCACACCTAGGTGTGAA-3' DNA sequence, or a half-site, which are present in the regulatory region of several genes (PubMed:12000749). Probably plays a role in limb pattern formation (PubMed:10468588). Required for mammary placode induction, and maintenance of the mammary buds during development (By similarity). Involved in branching morphogenesis in both developing lungs and adult mammary glands, via negative modulation of target genes, acting redundantly with TBX2 (By similarity). Required, together with TBX2, to maintain cell proliferation in the embryonic lung mesenchyme, perhaps acting downstream of SHH, BMP and TGFbeta signaling (By similarity). Involved in modulating early inner ear development, acting independently of, and also redundantly with, TBX2 in different subregions of the developing ear (By similarity).
