Human AFM (Afamin) ELISA Kit

The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human AFM. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Human AFM. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Human AFM, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Human AFM in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve. Protein Function: Functions as a carrier for hydrophobic molecules in body fluids (Probable). Essential for the solubility and activity of lipidated Wnt family members, including WNT1, WNT2B, WNT3, WNT3A, WNT5A, WNT7A, WNT7B, WNT8, WNT9A, WNT9B, WNT10A and WNT10B (PubMed:26902720). Binds vitamin E (PubMed:12463752, PubMed:15952736). May transport vitamin E in body fluids under conditions where the lipoprotein system is not sufficient (PubMed:15952736).
