GDF-15 BioAssay(TM) ELISA Kit (Rat)

GDF-15(Growth differentiation factor 15), also known as TGF-PL, MIC-1, PLAB, and PTGFB, is a protein belonging to the transforming growth factor beta superfamily that has a role in regulating inflammatory and apoptotic pathways in injured tissues and during disease processes. Its expression in liver can be significantly up-regulated in during injury of organs such as liver, kidney, heart and lung. GDF15 showed increased expression and secretion during erythroblast maturation. GDF15 functions as an antiinflammatory cytokine by directly interfering with chemokine signaling and integrin activation. Sample Type: Cell lysates, cell culture supernates, serum, plasma (Heparin or EDTA). Intended Use: Sandwich High Sensitivity BioAssay(TM) ELISA kit for Quantitative Detection of Rat GDF-15. Sensitivity: <10pg/ml, Range: 15.6pg/ml-1000pg/ml, Specificity: Recognizes natural and recombinant Rat GDF-15. There is no detectable cross-reactivity with other relevant proteins. Test Principle: This Rat GDF-15 BioAssay(TM) ELISA Kit was based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. A specific for GDF-15 has been precoated onto 96-well plates. Standards(Expression system for standard: NSO, Immunogen sequence: S189-A303) and test samples are added to the wells, a biotinylated detection specific for GDF-15 is added subsequently and then followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate TMB was used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Rat GDF-15 amount of sample captured in plate.
