Product information "Anti-Human VEGFB Antibody Pair"
Product Description: Vascular endothelial growth factor B (VEGFB) is a member of the VEGF family of signal proteins, primarily involved in the regulation of blood vessel formation (angiogenesis) and the development of lymphatic vessels. Structurally, VEGF proteins, including VEGFB, typically form homodimers stabilized by cystine-knot motifs and disulfide bonds, which are essential for their interaction with specific tyrosine kinase receptors such as VEGFR1 (Flt-1). These interactions trigger receptor dimerization and downstream signaling pathways, notably activating ERK1/2, which promotes endothelial cell proliferation and survival. VEGFB is particularly important in maintaining vascular integrity and supporting the blood supply to oxygen-deprived tissues. Dysregulation of VEGFB and its signaling pathways has been implicated in pathological conditions, including cardiovascular diseases and certain forms of cancer, where abnormal vessel growth or function contributes to disease progression. Protein Function: Growth factor for endothelial cells. VEGF-B167 binds heparin and neuropilin-1 whereas the binding to neuropilin-1 of VEGF-B186 is regulated by proteolysis [The Uniprot Consortium]
