Product information "Anti-Human RSPH1 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: Radial spoke head component 1 (RSPH1) is a key structural protein found in the axonemal radial spoke complexes of motile cilia and flagella, where it plays a crucial role in regulating ciliary and flagellar motility by contributing to the assembly and stability of the radial spoke head structure. RSPH1 is characterized by multiple membrane occupation and recognition nexus (MORN) repeats, forming elongated curved beta-sheets that interact with other radial spoke proteins through hydrogen bonds, hydrophobic, and electrostatic interactions, thereby locking the core of the radial spoke head in place and extending its surface for optimal function. The protein is predominantly expressed in tissues with motile cilia or flagella, such as the respiratory tract and sperm, and is essential for proper ciliary movement. Mutations in RSPH1 are associated with primary ciliary dyskinesia, a disorder marked by impaired ciliary motility leading to chronic respiratory infections and reduced fertility due to defective sperm flagella. Protein Function: Functions as part of axonemal radial spoke complexes that play an important part in the motility of sperm and cilia [The Uniprot Consortium]
