Product information "Anti-Human KIR3DL1 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: Killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor 3DL1 (KIR3DL1) is a member of the KIR family of receptors, which are expressed on natural killer (NK) cells and some T cells. This receptor is characterized by its ability to recognize specific human leukocyte antigen (HLA) class I molecules, particularly those expressing the Bw4 epitope of HLA-A and HLA-B. KIR3DL1 plays a critical role in regulating NK cell activity, providing inhibitory signals that prevent the destruction of healthy cells while allowing for the targeting of infected or malignant cells. Dysregulation or altered expression of KIR3DL1 has been associated with several conditions, including viral infections such as HIV, where certain alleles may confer protection or increased susceptibility. Additionally, its interaction with HLA molecules is implicated in the outcomes of organ transplantation and autoimmune diseases. Protein Function: Receptor on natural killer (NK) cells for HLA Bw4 allele. Inhibits the activity of NK cells thus preventing cell lysis [The Uniprot Consortium]
