Product information "Anti-Human XPNPEP2 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: X-prolyl aminopeptidase 2 (XPNPEP2) is a membrane-bound metalloprotease that catalyzes the removal of penultimate prolyl residues from N-termini of peptides, such as Arg-Pro-Pro. It belongs to the M24 family of metalloproteases and is widely expressed in human tissues, with highest levels in the kidney. XPNPEP2 is a GPI-anchored protein with 674 amino acids and plays a role in the metabolism of bioactive peptides like bradykinin. The enzyme is involved in proteolysis and has metal ion binding and metalloaminopeptidase activities. XPNPEP2 has been associated with several diseases, including angioedema, experimental liver cirrhosis, and primary ovarian insufficiency. Recent studies have also linked XPNPEP2 to cancer progression, with overexpression observed in cervical cancer and association with lymph node metastasis in prostate cancer patients. Protein Function: Membrane-bound metalloprotease which catalyzes the removal of a penultimate prolyl residue from the N-termini of peptides, such as Arg-Pro-Pro. May play a role in the metabolism of the vasodilator bradykinin [The Uniprot Consortium]
