Product information "Anti-Human WAVE-2 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: WASP family member 2 (WASF2), also known as WAVE2, is a cytoskeletal regulatory protein that belongs to the Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome protein family. It functions as a downstream effector transmitting signals from tyrosine kinase receptors and small GTPases to the actin cytoskeleton, facilitating actin polymerization through its conserved C-terminal verprolin homology (WH2) domain. WASF2 forms part of a multiprotein complex that links receptor kinases to actin, playing a key role in actin cytoskeleton reorganization, cell motility, and membrane dynamics. It is involved in processes such as lamellipodia formation and T cell receptor signaling, with dynamic regulation by phosphorylation and interactions with proteins like Pak1. WASF2 is widely expressed in various tissues, including the brain, immune cells, and muscle. Dysregulation of WASF2 has been implicated in cancer progression, metastasis, and immune dysfunctions, as it influences cell migration and invasion. Its aberrant activity contributes to tumor cell invasiveness and may affect immune cell function. Protein Function: Downstream effector molecule involved in the transmission of signals from tyrosine kinase receptors and small GTPases to the actin cytoskeleton. Promotes formation of actin filaments. Part of the WAVE complex that regulates lamellipodia formation. The WAVE complex regulates actin filament reorganization via its interaction with the Arp2/3 complex [The Uniprot Consortium]
