Product information "Anti-Human TAFA1 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: TAFA chemokine like family member 1 (TAFA1), also known as FAM19A1, is a secreted protein belonging to the TAFA family, which shares structural homology with chemokines but lacks typical chemokine receptor-binding motifs. TAFA1 is a 43 kDa protein encoded by the FAM19A1 gene, containing conserved cysteine residues forming a disulfide-bonded structure. It is predominantly expressed in the brain, particularly in neurons, and plays roles in immune modulation, neurodevelopment, and synaptic plasticity. TAFA1 interacts with G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) to regulate cell migration and inflammatory responses. Disease associations include links to neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative conditions, such as Alzheimer's disease, where altered TAFA1 expression may influence microglial activation and amyloid-beta clearance. Protein Function: Regulatory factor which is ligand for CMKLR2 and is involved in the modulation of neural stem-cell proliferation and differentiation [The Uniprot Consortium]
