Product Description: Syntaxin 2 (STX2) is a membrane-trafficking protein encoded by the STX2 gene, belonging to the syntaxin family of SNARE (soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptor) proteins. It plays a critical role in intracellular vesicle transport and membrane fusion, particularly in the Golgi apparatus and plasma membrane. Structurally, STX2 contains a C-terminal transmembrane domain and a conserved N-terminal SNARE motif, enabling interactions with other SNARE proteins to mediate vesicle docking and exocytosis. Its involvement in regulating secretory pathways and maintaining cellular homeostasis. STX2 is ubiquitously expressed, with higher levels observed in tissues like the pancreas and intestines. Its overexpression may contribute to cancer progression, including colorectal and breast cancers, by altering cell proliferation and metastasis pathways.
