Product Description: Spondin 1 (SPON1), also known as F-spondin, is a cell adhesion protein that plays a crucial role in promoting the attachment of spinal cord and sensory neuron cells and the outgrowth of neurites in vitro. Structurally, it contains 807 amino acids and is composed of six thrombospondin domains, one reelin domain, and one spondin domain. SPON1 is secreted by cells of the floor plate and is involved in axon guidance. Recent studies have also suggested that SPON1 may have therapeutic potential in Alzheimer's disease, as it has been shown to reduce amyloid beta and reverse cognitive impairment and memory dysfunction in a mouse model.
