Product information "Anti-Human RASSF2 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: Ras association domain family member 2 (RASSF2) is a potential tumor suppressor protein containing a Ras association domain. It functions as a KRAS-specific effector, promoting apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. RASSF2 interacts with K-Ras in a GTP-dependent manner and forms a complex with the prostate apoptosis response protein 4 (PAR-4) tumor suppressor. It plays a role in regulating PAR-4 nuclear translocation, which is essential for its apoptotic function. RASSF2 is primarily localized in the nucleus and is involved in protein stabilization and regulation of intracellular signal transduction. The gene is frequently epigenetically inactivated in various cancers, particularly in prostate cancer. Loss of RASSF2 expression enhances K-Ras-induced transformation and confers resistance to TRAIL-induced cell death in prostate cancer cells. RASSF2 inactivation is implicated in the early stages of colorectal tumorigenesis and may contribute to the development of other cancers. Protein Function: Potential tumor suppressor. Acts as a KRAS-specific effector protein. May promote apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. Stabilizes STK3/MST2 by protecting it from proteasomal degradation [The Uniprot Consortium]
