Product information "Anti-Human RARRES1 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: Retinoic acid receptor responder 1 (RARRES1) is a transmembrane protein encoded by the RARRES1 gene, regulated by retinoic acid receptors. Structurally, it contains an extracellular domain with adhesion motifs, a transmembrane region, and a cytoplasmic tail involved in signaling. Functionally, RARRES1 mediates cell adhesion, apoptosis, and immune regulation, potentially acting as a receptor for chemerin, a chemotactic protein implicated in inflammation and metabolism. Post-translational modifications, including glycosylation, influence its activity. RARRES1 is widely recognized as a tumor suppressor, with reduced expression linked to aggressive tumor progression and metastasis in cancers such as breast, prostate, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Additionally, it is associated with metabolic disorders, including obesity and type 2 diabetes, due to its role in adipocyte differentiation and insulin signaling. Variants in RARRES1 have also been correlated with coronary artery disease. Protein Function: Inhibitor of the cytoplasmic carboxypeptidase AGBL2, may regulate the alpha-tubulin tyrosination cycle [The Uniprot Consortium]
