Product Description: RAP1A is a protein encoded by the RAP1A gene, belonging to the Ras-related protein family. It shares approximately 50% amino acid identity with classical RAS proteins but has distinct structural features, notably a threonine at the 61st amino acid position instead of glutamine found in RAS proteins. RAP1A counteracts the mitogenic function of RAS by competitively interacting with RAS GAPs and RAF.
