Product Description: Proteasome 20S subunit alpha 3 (PSMA3) is a crucial component of the 20S core proteasome complex, responsible for the proteolytic degradation of most intracellular proteins. This 28.4 kDa protein, composed of 254 amino acids, contributes to the formation of heptameric alpha rings and the substrate entrance gate. PSMA3 plays a vital role in protein quality control, regulatory protein degradation, and antigen processing for MHC class I presentation. It interacts with various regulatory particles to form the 26S proteasome, which degrades ubiquitinated proteins in an ATP-dependent manner. In terms of disease associations, PSMA3 has been implicated in cancer progression, particularly in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC).
