Product Description: Proline rich coiled-coil 2C (PRRC2C) is a large cytosolic protein characterized by proline-rich and coiled-coil domains that enable RNA binding and are essential for efficient stress granule assembly, which regulates mRNA metabolism under cellular stress. PRRC2C is highly expressed in tissues such as adult spinal cord, liver, brain, and lung. Functionally, it participates in hematopoietic progenitor cell differentiation and interacts with multiple proteins, suggesting roles in RNA processing and cellular stress responses. Clinically, PRRC2C is implicated in cancer, particularly hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), where its overexpression promotes tumor cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and inhibits apoptosis, partly through upregulation of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) markers like N-cadherin and Vimentin. Knockdown of PRRC2C suppresses tumor growth in vivo. Additionally, altered splicing and expression of PRRC2C are linked to lung adenocarcinoma and bladder cancer.
