Product information "Anti-Human PLCB1 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: 1-Phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate phosphodiesterase beta-1 (PLCB1) is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2) into inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP3) and diacylglycerol (DAG), key secondary messengers in various signaling pathways. This enzyme plays a pivotal role in intracellular signal transduction, particularly in response to G-protein-coupled receptor activation, leading to increased intracellular calcium levels and subsequent cellular responses. Dysregulation of PLCB1 has been implicated in several diseases, particularly hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), where its overexpression is associated with tumor progression and poor prognosis. Studies have shown that elevated PLCB1 expression correlates with advanced tumor stages and promotes cell proliferation while inhibiting apoptosis in HCC cells. Additionally, PLCB1 is involved in other conditions such as schizophrenia and myotonic dystrophy. Protein Function: Catalyzes the hydrolysis of 1-phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate into diacylglycerol (DAG) and inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP3) and mediates intracellular signaling downstream of G protein-coupled receptors (PubMed:9188725). Regulates the function of the endothelial barrier [The Uniprot Consortium]
