It is specifically expressed in hemopoietic cell lineages and has been found in many types of malignant human cells of non-hemopoietic origin, suggesting its expression is induced during tumorigenesis in solid tissues. LCP1 has been identified as a potential biomarker for various cancers, including triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), where high expression of LCP1 is associated with favorable survival outcomes and immune cell infiltration, particularly M1 and M2 macrophages.
