Product information "Anti-Human OTOR Antibody Pair"
Product Description: Otoraplin (OTOR) is a secreted cytokine protein of approximately 12.7-16 kDa, encoded by the OTOR gene, and a member of the MIA/OTOR family characterized by a Src homology-3 (SH3)-like domain. It is predominantly expressed in the cochlea of the inner ear, periotic mesenchyme, developing and mature fibrocytes, and to a lesser extent in fetal brain and cartilage tissues. Otoraplin plays a critical role in cartilage development and maintenance, particularly in the early chondrogenesis of the otic capsule, essential for normal inner ear formation and auditory function. Functionally, it regulates cell migration in a concentration-dependent manner and has homology to melanoma inhibitory activity proteins, suggesting involvement in tumor biology. Clinically, mutations or polymorphisms in OTOR are linked to hearing disorders such as otosclerosis and cochlear dysfunction, likely due to impaired cartilage and otic capsule development. Additionally, OTOR expression correlates with breast carcinoma prognosis, influencing cell proliferation, migration, and invasiveness.
