Product Description: Myosin VC (MYO5C) is a motor protein predominantly expressed in epithelial and glandular tissues, playing a crucial role in secretory processes. It belongs to the class V myosin family and shares approximately 50% sequence identity with myosin Va and Vb. MYO5C functions as a low duty ratio motor, with phosphate release as the rate-limiting step. It consists of a motor domain, an elongated neck domain with six IQ motifs, a coiled-coil dimerization region, and a globular tail domain. MYO5C associates with secretory granules and is involved in transferrin trafficking. It can adopt different conformations and interact with various light chains, including calmodulin, Myl6, and Myl12b.
