Product information "Anti-Human LRFN1 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: Leucine rich repeat and fibronectin type III domain containing 1 (LRFN1) is a membrane-associated protein predominantly expressed in the brain, especially in hippocampal neurons, where it promotes neurite outgrowth and is crucial for the regulation and maintenance of excitatory synapses. Structurally, LRFN1 contains leucine-rich repeats and fibronectin type III domains, which facilitate protein-protein interactions essential for synaptic assembly. It induces clustering of key postsynaptic proteins such as DLG4, DLGAP1, GRIA1, and GRIN1, thereby contributing to postsynaptic density organization and synaptic plasticity. Clinically, mutations or dysregulation of LRFN1 have been associated with neurological disorders, notably familial temporal lobe epilepsy, reflecting its role in synaptic function and neuronal excitability. Protein Function: Promotes neurite outgrowth in hippocampal neurons. Involved in the regulation and maintenance of excitatory synapses. Induces the clustering of excitatory postsynaptic proteins, including DLG4, DLGAP1, GRIA1 and GRIN1 (By similarity) [The Uniprot Consortium]
