Product information "Anti-Human KLK9 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: Kallikrein related peptidase 9 (KLK9) is a glycosylated serine protease belonging to the kallikrein family, characterized by a chymotrypsin-like structure and a strong preference for cleaving peptide bonds after tyrosine residues at the P1 position, rather than phenylalanine. KLK9 is synthesized as a preproenzyme and undergoes proteolytic processing to become active, with its enzymatic activity enhanced by magnesium and calcium ions and reversibly inhibited by zinc ions. It is primarily expressed in tissues such as thymus, testis, spinal cord, cerebellum, trachea, mammary gland, prostate, brain, salivary gland, ovary, and skin. KLK9 is inhibited in vitro by various natural and synthetic protease inhibitors and has been shown to interact with substrates like KLK10 and midkine. Clinically, KLK9 is regulated by steroid hormones in ovarian and breast cancer cell lines and is considered a potential prognostic marker for early-stage ovarian and breast cancer patients.
