Product information "Anti-Human ING1 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: Inhibitor of growth family member 1 (ING1) is a tumor suppressor protein that plays a crucial role in regulating cell growth, apoptosis, and senescence. It is encoded by the ING1 gene located on chromosome 13q34 and is characterized by its ability to induce cell growth arrest and apoptosis through interactions with the tumor suppressor protein TP53 and other proteins such as PCNA and HDAC1. ING1 has multiple isoforms, including ING1a and ING1b, which are widely expressed and particularly high in testes and thymus, respectively. Reduced expression and rearrangement of ING1 have been associated with various cancers, including head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, breast cancer, lung cancer, and gastric cancer. ING1's role in tumor suppression involves epigenetic regulation, affecting cancer hallmarks such as sustained cell proliferation and evasion of apoptosis. Protein Function: Cooperates with p53/TP53 in the negative regulatory pathway of cell growth by modulating p53-dependent transcriptional activation. Implicated as a tumor suppressor gene [The Uniprot Consortium]
