Product information "Anti-Human IMPA2 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: Inositol monophosphatase 2 (IMPA2) is an enzyme encoded by the IMPA2 gene located on chromosome 18p11.2, primarily involved in the phosphatidylinositol signaling pathway, which is crucial for various cellular processes including metabolism, growth, and differentiation. The protein exhibits myo-inositol monophosphatase activity, converting myo-inositol monophosphate to myo-inositol, and is dependent on magnesium for its enzymatic function. Notably, IMPA2 has been implicated in several diseases, particularly neuropsychiatric disorders such as bipolar disorder and intellectual developmental disorder. Recent studies also highlight its role as an oncogene in cervical cancer, where it promotes tumor proliferation and metastasis through the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway. Protein Function: Phosphatase that can use myo-inositol monophosphates, myo-inositol 1,4-diphosphate, scyllo-inositol-1,4-diphosphate, glucose-1-phosphate, beta-glycerophosphate and 2'-AMP as substrates in vitro (PubMed:17068342). It is likely that IMPA2 has an as yet unidentified in vivo substrate(s) (PubMed:17068342). Has been implicated as the pharmacological target for lithium (Li(+)) action in brain (PubMed:17068342) [The Uniprot Consortium]
