Product Description: Interleukin 31 receptor A (IL31RA) is a protein encoded by the IL31RA gene, which plays a crucial role in mediating immune responses and inflammation. The protein has a molecular weight of approximately 83.5 kDa and is expressed in various tissues, including epithelial cells and activated monocytes. This protein forms part of the interleukin-31 receptor complex, which includes the oncostatin M receptor (OSMR) and is involved in signaling pathways that promote itching and inflammatory responses, particularly in skin conditions. Mutations in the IL31RA gene have been linked to primary localized cutaneous amyloidosis (PLCA), a condition characterized by the accumulation of amyloid proteins in the skin, leading to severe itching and discomfort. In addition to its role in PLCA, IL31RA has been implicated in asthma and other allergic conditions, where it may contribute to airway hyperresponsiveness and smooth muscle contraction.
