Product Description: Interleukin-1 beta is a cytokine protein that is encoded by the IL1B gene in humans. IL-1beta precursor is cleaved by cytosolic caspase 1 (interleukin 1 beta convertase) to form mature IL-1beta. IL-1beta is produced by activated macrophages, monocytes, and a subset of dendritic cells known as slanDC. It induces prostaglandin synthesis, neutrophil influx and activation, T-cell activation, and cytokine production. IL-1beta is involved in various physiological and pathological processes, including inflammation, immune response, and cancer. It has been associated with diseases such as gastric cancer and toxic shock syndrome.
