Product Description: Intercellular adhesion molecule 4 (ICAM4), also known as CD242 or the Landsteiner-Wiener (LW) blood group antigen, is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily primarily expressed on erythroid cells. Structurally, ICAM4 contains two Ig-like C2-type domains and features extracellular, transmembrane, and cytoplasmic regions, with its extracellular domain facilitating interactions with leukocyte integrins such as LFA-1 (integrin alpha-L/beta-2), alpha-4/beta-1, and alpha-V integrins. This protein plays a critical role in cell adhesion processes, especially during erythroblast maturation and red blood cell development, thereby contributing to hematopoietic and immune system regulation.
