Product information "Anti-Human GFRA3 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: GDNF family receptor alpha 3 (GFRA3) is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored cell surface receptor and a member of the GDNF receptor family, primarily functioning as a co-receptor for the neurotrophic factor artemin (ARTN) and forming a signaling complex with the RET tyrosine kinase receptor[. This receptor is integral to nervous system development, mediating ARTN-induced autophosphorylation and activation of RET, which in turn triggers downstream signaling pathways such as MAPK cascades and supports axon guidance and neuronal survival. Structurally, GFRA3 shares homology with other GDNF family receptors, featuring cysteine-rich domains that facilitate ligand binding and receptor activation. Disease associations for GFRA3 include breast duct papilloma, prostate cancer, and familial medullary thyroid carcinoma, suggesting its dysregulation may contribute to tumorigenesis or abnormal tissue growth, although its primary role remains in neurodevelopmental processes. Protein Function: Receptor for artemin (ARTN), a growth factor that supports the survival of sensory and sympathetic peripheral neurons (PubMed:31535977, PubMed:9883723). ARTN-binding leads to autophosphorylation and activation of the RET receptor (PubMed:31535977, PubMed:9883723) [The Uniprot Consortium]
