Product information "Anti-Human FAM3B Antibody Pair"
Product Description: FAM3B, also known as PANDER (pancreatic-derived factor), is a member of the FAM3 cytokine-like gene family. It encodes a 235-amino acid protein that is highly expressed and secreted from pancreatic alpha and beta cells. PANDER plays a role in regulating glucose homeostasis, insulin sensitivity, and hepatic lipogenesis. Overexpression of PANDER promotes apoptosis of beta cells, inhibits insulin secretion, and induces insulin resistance in the liver, leading to increased gluconeogenesis. Conversely, PANDER deficiency protects against hyperglycemia and insulin resistance in diet-induced and genetic mouse models of obesity and diabetes. PANDER knockout mice exhibit enhanced glucose tolerance and reduced hepatic steatosis, suggesting a potential role for PANDER in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes. Protein Function: Induces apoptosis of alpha and beta cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner [The Uniprot Consortium]
